Going Green (2008) - The Oklahoman's environmental news blog. I have doubled readership in the three months that I've been the lead writer on the blog. POST.A.CARD (2007-present) - A blog dedicated to the idea that all people and places are connected. Here, you'll find my postcards from Africa as well as postcards from Jessie Bonner (The Associated Press ) in Guatemala. My role: Co-creator and co-writer.

Drought (2008) - In early 2008, the Oklahoma Panhandle was in the middle of a drought that old-timers were comparing to the Dust Bowl. I talked with several Dust Bowl survivors in Boise City for this video, which supplemented a story in The Oklahoman. My role: videographer, co-video editor, interviewer.

Picher Tornado (2008) - Picher, a former lead mining town in northeast Oklahoma, is in the heart one of the nation's oldest and most severe Superfund sites. In May, an EF 4 tornado demolished most of the town's buildings but left its spirit intact. My role: videographer, co-editor.

Spring Creek (2008) - Only five water bodies in Oklahoma are known to meet all federal water quality standards. Spring Creek, hidden in the hills of northeast Oklahoma, is one of them. This video showcases an environmental group that has worked for more than a decade to protect the creek. It supplemented a story for The Oklahoman.

Alt. Farmers (2008) - As worries about the environment and food security rise, Oklahomans are turning to local foods. My role: videographer, interviewer.

Miles Tolbert (2008) - Miles Tolbert resigned as Oklahoma's secretary of the environment in August. This quick-hit video accompanied the breaking news story. My role: videographer, interviewer.

Air Quality: OKC vs. Beijing (2008) - In this on-camera interview, I talk with Eddie Terrill, the head of air quality for the Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality. A Q&A accompanied the video in The Oklahoman.

SITES

Ugly whales get love, too (2009) - Project on the recovery of the North Atlantic right whale, the most endangered large whale on earth. Features photo-audio stories of five whales, including Van Halen and Stumpy. The personal stories help viewers dive into deeper issues like whale entanglements in fishing gear and collisions with ships. Stories and videos explain scientific and volunteer efforts to protect the whales. My role: organized the project and reported content.

Clearing the Air (2007) - Finalist, Edgie Awards, Newspaper Association of America. Category: most innovative multimedia storytelling. My role: generated idea, wrote storyboard, shot and edited videos, scripted cartoon presentations and wrote most print content for this stand-alone site presented by NewsOK.com and The Oklahoman.

Tar Creek: continuing coverage (2006-2007) - Winner, First Amendment Award for an online project, Society of Professional Journalists, Ft. Worth, Texas (regional award). Published by The Oklahoman. My role: wrote content, helped shoot and edit some videos, recorded voice-overs.

Zoo Atlanta Elephants (2005)- Project for Emory University class in New Media. My role: Co-designer and writer.

Easy Rider (2007) - San Francisco's program to increase public transit use. Made for the Knight New Media Center on a fellowship. My role: Shot and edited video, helped write content, collaborated on storyboard, helped create Flash timeline.
